Sooooo I've had my r1200gsa 2009 for a few days. To get the deal I wanted I didn't bother with the complimentary 'service' as I don't know the level of knowledge the lads I bought it from have. It's due the 40k service. And has full bmw service history so far. Should I

A) do it my self, I'm a time served mechanic and own a few other bikes. I normally do all my own work from oil up to engine rebuilds. I know I can't reset the service light though

B) keep the bmw service history up and pay a bit more at coopers Sunderland

C) try to find an independent bmw specialist. ( can anyone recommend someone local to newcastle-Sunderland?)

Thanks for the advice in advance

Do it yourself, money saved will easy cover the purchase of a GS911 for diagnostics and to reset the service light. I'm a desk jockey and have been servicing my 1150 & 1200 GS's for the last 13 years & 100,000 miles, so someone with your background will find it all too easy.

I've looked in to the gs911. Can they do everything needed? Is there something about needing to actuate a sequence for the abs to bleed clean fluid through? And also balancing the throttle bodies. Cheers.
