Chaps - servo has just gone tits up on mates bike and he's due to go to Europe on Friday! Anyone selling one?? He knows they can be 'bypassed' but doesn't want to modify from standard.

Anyone selling one or has one spare to lend in the short term?

We are currently in Moffatt for the night or will be back in Lancashire from tomorrow afternoon

Thanks

I think you'll find spare and secondhand functional servos scarcer then hens teeth and pricey if you can find them.

I see a bypass in his future.

There are several on shelves I'm sure of it... should be around 50-80 quid used..i.e. when people take them off and they are still working fine. You could always serach the thread for the bypass....then worry about fixing it when you get back from your trip.. it may be the quickest option.

Call Steptoe.

I know for certain he has one unit sitting propping up his garage door which is probably US, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he has another couple stashed away from previous ABSectomies :thumb2

Have you checked the threads about repairing them?

It may be a fairly simple job

Why would someone serve tommies a bike when the servo was still functional?

Diagnosis complete. Servo showing several fault codes. It's dying.

Option 1, new one. £1800
Option 2, second ahnd one (ebay) £695 (off a 28000 miler, so 'NO')
Option 3, ABSectomy.

Stolzy The Doomsayer was quite right. A by-pass it is. I'm thinking it's retro anyway.

On the plus side, now the servo has failed, I don't have to worry about it failing.

Just a thought but, it may be another option to fit an old school abs modulator. Non-servo, just abs... Best of both worlds with abs safety net but with proper, reliable brakes.

Spare servo

I have a spare servo "sitting around"
Was brought of this site about 4 years ago during my 1150 years as a spare. (Think I had been reading this site too much and was preparing myself for the inevitable failure.)
Drop me a PM if your are interested. I think I purchased it for about £150 - £200.

Cheers

Bugger...!! Shame, but another reason for me not to "upgrade"

Just out of interest, is it down to the ECU/wiring, or some other problem?
