A couple of weeks ago I was looking at a site or thread that linked to a site (can't remember which), that had set back bar risers to fit the 100GS.

Do you think I can find it now???? :nenau:nenau Could have sworn I'd saved it in my favorites :mmmm

Can anyone point me in the right direction for these please? It's the set back ones I'm after, already got standard risers.

if you want the design, I'll check at the office, I'm sure I still have the files

Wow that's interesting. What tooling/workshop facilities do you have? I'm quite limited but can lay my hands on a small vice I have in storage :nenau

Worth considering though, so I'd be grateful to see your plans.

Thanks, I've IM'd him but not sure they'll be long enough. I need them to be set back a bit more.

And I'll send you the drawing.
You need a simple milling machine at least to make the parts, or let a local machinist do them for you. I have a lot of connections to such facilities through my work.

Thanks John :thumb2

I found these last week. But I need to ask Norman if the risers shown are indeed the actual ones being sold. The measurement given is a set back of 5/8th inch. The picture shows the bars set back at least 1 1/4 inch 'centre to centre' though the 5/8th may be measured front of bars to rear of bars. :nenau
In the photo they look like they're exactly what I'm looking for. Set back enough so I can bring the forks up in front of the bars (probably another half inch) just enough to bring the bike back level. The R100R rear shock drops the bike down enough for for SWMBO (along with the lowered seat) to reach the ground with a reasonable degree of confidence. But this leaves the fork angle a bit lazy, and is then amplified by the 21" front wheel, giving the bike very slow steering (lot's of under-steer) and heavy/floppy at slow speed.

Another reason for wanting the set-back is that the other half's short leg issue is accompanied by short arms, so she feels a little over stretched when riding it. I'm not ready yet to do an internal mod to lower the front, partly because doing it this way means I can simply and quickly convert the bike back to normal size so I can have a play too.
