Setting bike up for track day?

I foooookin loved it :D. I looked out for you on your S1000r but didn't get to chat with you. Id love to see you video footage :thumb2

I definitely don't have any chicken strips on my tyres now! The day just got better and better as the speed picked up, but 'the buyer' & 'bbb' still flew past me on their GSA's, I tried keeping up with them but didn't have a chance :mad: My instructor Jim Bryan was brill and made the day a success for me. A bit un-nerving at the start when one guy went off the track at Hairpin :eek:. Was surprised when one guy in my group packed in through fear and went home after the 2nd slow ride out , despite having 15yrs riding experience!

I guess it depends how he has ridden over those 15 years. Shame for him having to pull out but respect for not trying to "tough it through"
 
Bloody Hell- thats a first- riding on one of these days is miles safer than riding on the road.

Even in the fast group we were really taking it easy, most of the groups I saw going around were basically superslow novices.

Saw a chap bin it at the hairpin- had one of those maxi scooter sort of things and a helmet fell out of his storage area under his seat!! Why the hell he was in group A I dont know.

Amazing well organised event ( shame it is ending.... But maybe one more next year ).....Really safe... Just turned up... No adjustments made... And enjoyed the day ... :thumb2

My thoughts too. The first two outings were taken nice and slow, just to get familiar with where the cones/tipping points were etc. But he couldn't keep up, I'm sure he was on a Ducatti Multistrada. I had a chat with him as I'm a complete new rider and assumed he was too, thought id try and reassure him and make him stay.

Q - "How long you been riding a bike?"
A - "Fifteen years".

I didn't know what else to say. But I guess he did the right thing, if he was petrified then no point continuing and holding the whole group up. I felt sorry for the guys behind him as they were struggling to see the instructors riding line.

I was pleased to find I was overtaking quite a few, I even lapped one bike. But then 'thebuyer' and 'bbb' overtook me and disappeared into the distance. Bastids!!:D

Nice to see a few GS's there, and often overtaking the sports bikes.

Been to cadwell on my gs before- great fun. Mostly I find it's the rider who is slow or fast - not the bike. Why would someone buy a 150hp multistrada and not enjoy a day like that?

And if wasn't cheap- but good value I suppose for the amount of track time we got.

Anyone see my wheelies over the mountain?
 
I thought it was cheap, for what you got... Worth every penny for the safety of a well organised day...

I've not been on a track before...and listening to most people, no other events measure up...

He's a joy to watch. On your S1000r would you have even able to overtake him or were you purposely staying behind him for the video?
