I just bought a new Buffalo Linkstation LSXL 2.0TB NAS to enable me to use Time Machine and back up my imac properly.
However, I have installed the NAS Navigator software but the imac just doesnt 'see' the bloody drive
Unplugged the bloody ethernet to the drive loads of times, turned it on and off ,rebooted the Mac etc etc no joy. Been on this for nearly 2 hrs now and really pissed off.
Having done a bit of research it seems that I 'might' be able to see it by setting up a static ip address on the imac. I have read how to do this BUT I am not sure
a) what this actually does?
b) will it f*ck anything else up?
c) how to undone it if it does not work/does f*ck things up
