I have just taken the plunge and bought a matching pair of SMH10R's for me and SWMBO. They have not arrived yet, and yes I wil certainly read the manual when they do. But doe anyone who has these already have any tips for:

a) fitting to a full-face (Shoei) helmet.

b) Pairing them with eachother and with my BMW Nav IV
- reading other threads it seems that BT devices are quite susceptible (sorry, that is not the correct word, but I am having a senior moment and cannot think of the correct one!) to the order in which you switch them on and pair them. Certainly, I currently use a Sony MHW600 and that "prefers" to be switched on and set into BT mode before I switch on my Nav IV.

So any tips and things that you have learnt the hard way would be welcomed.

Cant comment on fitting to full face.

However I have noticed that with mine I have to turn on the headset first then the nav otherwise the nav doesnt recognise the headset as A2DP compatible.

This obviously only applies if you play music from your Nav IV.

There is also the option that if you have in ear monitors that you can actually put on a 3.5 mm plug however this is only available from the states as not being sold in europe at present. They cost approx 6 dollars each plus the postage from the USA. If anyone needs one then I have a spare which I will happilly pass along for the price I paid just 6 dollars wont even charge for the postage.

I managed to do this conversion myself with some light soldering.

- yes, I have noticed this as well.

I went to Balderstones to buy a Sena SM10 today and they were kind enough to let me check that it was right before I bought it.

Unfortunately I could either connect the bike or the Navi III to the headset, but not both at the same time.

I'm going to call them again on Wednesday when their Sena chap is back from holiday as I'm hoping it was me that was failing rather than the Sena/bike/Navi.

Ultimately I'll be fitting a Tom Tom to the bike so will need to check that will all work as well.

"Connect the bike" - sorry, I do not understand.

I have my iPhone connected to the Nav IV and the Nav IV connected to my Sena SMH10R

I've got an RT with a radio/MP3 & Bluetooth connectivity which I would like to connect to the headset as well as the Nav III/Tom Tom.

Ahhhh, I understand.

Does it not work if you treat the radio/MP3 player as a "Sena sr10 BT 2-way radio adapter" and follow the instructions in the manual for "multipoint pairing" (page 19 in the SMH10R manual).

The Sena BT headset treats the Nav IV as a "phone" anyway and the multipoint pairing allows a mobile phone (your NAV IV) and another BT device. But I don't have this set-up, so I am only going by my recent reading of the Sena manual. Good luck

I've not bought it yet so haven't got the manual. Hopefully the guy at the dealership will know all about the various ways of setting it up which is why I'll speak to him when he gets back from holiday.

Thanx for the suggestion though, if he can't get it to work I'll put your suggestion to him.:thumb

You can probably get the manual to download somewhere and have a happy hour reading it.
