Sexy as hell or big fat ass?

I've just fitted a set of Givi E41N and I'm really not sure about the look. I only really ride on the road, so not too fussed that they're not ally and "hard" looking, but I think it makes the bike look over large from the rear.

Interestingly if you look from the front, the panniers are no wider than the handlebars, so it doesn't increase the overall width.

Just not 100% on it overall.

So, what do you think?

Well, I think they look pretty good on the bike. The colours really match up well.

Personally think they look good.. fit with the general lines and colour schemes of the bike.. though, as you say they lack the hard image of alu cans..

my idea of luggage should be tucked in and as inconspicuous as possible.
those look like last minute add-ons that aren't integrated, don't fit, don't look right and well - turn the bike into something it was never designed to be.

I think the hard look of the alloy boxes is more suited to the 1150.

I think it looks OK. At least they don't look like pizza delivery boxes, not rufty tufty enough for lots of people though. Big question is how much did they cost? Slightly cheaper than the OEM I would think. Are the fixing rails Givi also? Do they remove easily?

The bike looks great from the side, ok from the front, and just remember NEVER go round the back with your eyes open

I tend towards the low profile 'close fitting' panniers. I can't understand why BMW spent so much time and money redeveloping the bike that is known the world over as probably the best allround tourer.

And then stuck the same old style exaust in the way of the luggage

There must be someone, somwhere that has made a setup like the 650 or an under seat job??

Having the panniers stuck out four inches from the sides of the bike must be putting undue strain on the sub frame.

I went with the classic GIVI topbox with stock panniers as I wanted the option to use the topbox on my other bike. To my eye, the BMW topbox looks like a Jerry Can afterthought but that is just me.
