just wondering which oil do you lot recommend for the shaft drive , i read it needs topping up about every 2000 miles or was it checking

it's a GSA 04 model bike...1150

ps which oil should i buy and can i get it from halfords :nenau :P

Do you mean the final drive?

As far as I remember, it's 75w/90 gear oil certified to API GL5 - the same spec as for the gearbox. Halfords do an own brand semi synthetic that meets those specs, about 10 quid a litre.

Best check those specs before buying though, as I am assuming the 1150 requires the same as the 1200.

Read a bit more of the book......it`ll tell ya.

Usually EP80W/90 GL5 gear oil available from any motor factors, not just Halfrauds.

Shouldn`t need attention every 2000 miles....

Halfords is on the way home so easy to pop in and buy :mmmm

Don't waste money on exotic gearoils for your old bus.

Just make sure it's GL5 spec. And change it every 6K miles.

As Steppers say.

Me also using cheapo (not the cheapest tho) GL5, just replacing it every 10Kkms (6K miles). I use 80W-90 mostly that cover all the condition. 75W is for under +5C weathers, 90W if over +5C, but the 80W-90 does it all :thumb

I'm buying the litre around 5£ to 8£ from a car bits shop, there are cheaper as well, but this price range looks more trusty for me.

With the 1 litre you can fill up gearbox and FD.

Cheers, Margus :beerjug:
