I'm told that sheepskin seat covers are good for long journeys and maintaining behind integrity.

Anyone able to recommend a good place to buy some?

It would be for both seats on an R1150GS.

Cheers

Contact Barb at www.alaskaleather.com mention UKGSer and she should give you a 10 percent discount.

I phoned her to place the order, don't forget the nine hour time difference...

Try Easirider (www.easirider.com) - their sheapskin covers come in cream, grey, beige or charcoal and cost £75 for large single seats or £95 for twin seperate seats.

I spent Christmas in the Lake District and there are shops up there selling full sheepskins - I even saw one in a fetching red - for £24. Simply cut to size and add your own elastic.

I bought an Ikea Sheepskin off ebay for £15 and cut it to size for my 1150GS. I then put the pieces inside an Oxfod Throwover bag cover to keep it dry and bungeed to the seat. Seems to do the job though I don't know how comfy it is in comparison with the Alaska ones.

Waste of bloody time imo. They look crap, get wet and soggy and don't work. The dog likes it though. In the end you're compressing the "fur" and it's just like the original seat anyway.

After trying a Melvyned seat and having my own rebuilt the only thing that really has worked is an Airhawk. Not very attractive but very effective. I also use it in the car and on my office chair so it's been well worth the money :D

They also do a money back guarantee so if you really don't get on with it you haven't lost anything.

Cheers
