What's the cheapest and the most effective way to do it?

Air is preferred for less destination charges and for less paperwork hassles, but if anyone can recommend a good sea-freighter, who doesn't drown me into zillion £££ port payments, taxes and other endless paperwork on the other end, then recommend me sea freighters as well.

So what company to use and which destination works out the cheapest? Buenos Aires? Santiago? Anything else?

Any tips and direct experiences with shipping highly appriciated!

TIA, Margus :beerjug:

For sea freight Freight Forwarders, James Cargo etc. There's not much you can do to insulate yourself from the palm greasing required in Docks, except by using a Roll-On/Roll-Off (RoRo). Details from: -

Air freight is more expensive, but more easily quantifiable. Book one way Europe to South Am. It's cheaper shipping the bike back if you buy the return trip in South Am.

Thanks a million for the info John.

I'll keep you updated how the search goes...

Try contacting Lyncargo in Bogota Colombia. Ask for Veronica (she speaks English). They are freight forwarding folks and could be a useful contact.
