Hi All
I have just returned from a very good tour of the Dolomites (were they made for bikes or bikes made for them?).
Before I left I wired my 2610 and autocom into my 1200GS. The whole system has worked really well and I am pleased with the general outcome. However can anyone answer the following for me?
1. The volume of the voice from me to pillion and vice versa is too low. The sound level for the 2610 is excellent. I have used the Autocom 57 wire thingy. I have also used my autocom on my previous bikes and the sound level has never been a problem, so it appears that the 2610 has affected the pillion to rider volume. Any suggestions (shouting is tiring)?
2. The second issue is that whenever I ride under a power pylon and my lips are touching the autocom mike I get a sharp tingling thru my lips. Again never happened before. Not really a problem but just wondered what was actually happening scientificaly?
3. Sometimes my 2610 chirps for no apparent reason it is not when it is about to lose the satelites or anything that I can suss out. Again not a problem but wondered what causes this?
Last word from me is that the sat nav is a good tool but anyone thinking that they can throw away their maps should think again. A bit like using maps and thinking you no longer need to read road signs. The Sat nav is a good add on and is very good to confimrm where you are but it can take you around the houses at times and is pretty frustrating in built up areas as it will lose the satelites amongst tall buildings at crucial times in cities. It will always get you to your location though.
Cheers
