Hi Guys

Will the shocks from an adventure fit straight onto a standard GS. I know it will raise the bike about 25mm but apart from that any issues?

Thanks

Yes (on the older model anyway). I have a 2004 and fitted Adventure shocks.

One of them (the front I think) looks the same length unfitted but I assume due to sag/preload it does increase the ride height.

Your problem will be with the stands. The centre stand will no longer lift the back wheel off the ground. As for the side stand, it works fine but I do find myslef using the centre-stand more than I used to as the lean-angle is reduced.

If you have a later (2006?) bike you can retrofit the stands, on an earlier bike you will need to change the lengths. I have not bothered and in 3 years have not had an issue.

Was yours fitted to an adventure Craig? Would putting a puck on the side stand help?

Alex. Does the centre stand srill work though? Mine is a 2007 so maybe a different stand may be the answer.

Thanks Guys :thumb2

How about front forks? Are they different in Adventure?
There is one round hole in sliding tube and that should stay below oil sealing ring.

Yes, original centre stand still works fine it just does not lift the rear wheel of the ground. In fact both stands work fine but I would not trust the side stand with panniers.

If yours is 2007 then you can probably retrofit the stands as well. Mine is too early model and they changed the stand design.
