Hi All,
I thought I'd try the wisdom of the collective before wasting money. . .
I switched to a Shoei GT-Air a couple of months ago, but since the cold/wet weather started I am suffering with condensation forming from my breath on the lower central part of the visor - right where the clocks are situated in my line of sight!
This sem-circular cloud grows in size the longer I ride, and after 30 minutes I have to stop and clean it off, or crash. I have the pinlock fitted, and it's not between the Pinlock and the visor - it's forming on the inside surface. I've used Pinlocks before and never had this problem, I even changed the Pinlock insert in case I had managed to strip the leading edge whilst riding with the visor up, but it's made no difference. I have ridden with and without the standard Shoei GT-Air breath guard, and that makes no difference either.
I have found that the airflow across the visor from the chin vent isn't all that great, but riding with the visor cracked open doesn't help either, and I don't really want it cracked open anyway.
So, I was planning on getting an air-mask 3 as this is supposed to divert the breath downwards - it's made for an X-Sprint, but from looking at it I think it will fit a GT-Air.
Does anyone have any experience with these?
The facts:
I'd like to avoid suggestions of anti-fog sprays, Pinlock alternatives etc as I've tried them all, and I've been very happy with Pinlock up until buying this helmet.
Feel free to take the mickey though. . .
