Experiences from anyone who has bought one please, have sold my Shoei Qwest to a mate at work, looking for the GT or moving to the neotec or System 6 flip, still undecided.

Noise wise how is it and if you had a Qwest is it a marked improvement?

I bought a GT-Air just a few months ago and sshhh..... I bought another last week as a Christmas present for my son. I think they have what is probably the best build quality of any helmet I've ever picked up, let alone owned. It's extremely quiet yet well ventilated when you open the....err....vents. The optical qualities of the drop down sun visor are reported to be the best out there. I can't comment on that because I haven't previously owned a helmet with one but it does work well and is rattle free. I can't compare it to a Qwest as I never owned one due to the fact that they don't fit my head. I was wearing a Shoei Hornet and occasionally my old Arai Tour-X until I bought the GT-Air. Subjectively, I don't think the GT-Air is quite so long oval as the Hornet but it's not nearly as round as the Qwest. If you've been wearing an earlier Shoei, I'd check the fit before you buy a GT-Air.

If feridax are telling dealers what to charge they may be over stepping the mark. I believe that they can only suggest retail prices and they cannot interfere if a dealer wants to set their own price. Anything else is called price fixing. I am not a legal expert but that is the way I see it JJH

I stepped up from a qwest (great helmet) to a white GT Air. Best lid I have had, quality is great, very quiet and stable and both visors are great. Buy with confidence.

I got mine for £360 form a chain dealer....PM me if interested to know who.

Cheers

I,ve had one for about 6 months, still not conviced! As mentioned not as oval as the hornet and a tighter fit than a normal size large (my size) I was very disappointed with the high noise leval without ear buds, yes I normally wear them but I was expecting it to be much quieter in view of rave reviews I read about it. Would I buy again? doubt it, yes the drop down visors very nice the finish is beyond reproach, but I find it a bit claustrophobic and despite its name a little stuffy. Just make sure you try one on before buying, and not for just a couple of minutes!.
