Beautiful Essex.
Can anyone give me feedback on the Shoei XR1000 helmet? Seemed to do OK in MCN/Ride but wondered what the pros and cons are?

Also, anyone know of a good Shoei stockist in Essex/East London areas?

Gonzo,

I bought a XR1000 just befor Christmas. Excellent helmet.

The vent system actually works
Very light
Pinlock visor system brill. Even works in thick Fog
Very comfortable if you have a Shoei head

Only real downsides are:

Not much room for speakers - if thats your thing (try ultimate ear plugs with speakers built in - far better)

No integral flip down dark visor

Would definitely recommend them

I see ETA is 16th mine is 19th 0nwards! Yellow and Black

PS: You can buy them at John Pease in Braintree

Make sure the Pinlock visor insert is already fitted, otherwise you will need to drill the visor - not good!

Thanks for the steer. My DEFINITE date is now the 16th, Red/Black/Black from Cannons. Where are you getting yours?

It looks as if Braintree (along with most of the rest of Essex, to be honest) will get a visit from me this coming Saturday!

Keep in touch on via the forum - maybe we can get an Essex possey going for a ride-out soon?

Good luck with yours!:D

Cannon's also!

I'll be doing exacrly the same a week later!

GPS Mount kit ready and waiting to fit, routes planned

Blimey! I'm working up gradually to the giddy heights of GPS - I've started with a tank bag, Tobinators and a protective cover for the oil cooler after taking the advice of the good members of this forum!
