Anybody know what the sizing is like with the Shoei Ds Hornet?

Or does anyone recommend a similar Lid?

It looks great, and all reviews I've read so far have said it's light, comfy, quiet, and well vent. I'm a small in any Arai I've tried on and in KBC. I've tried one or two places in and around Dublin but nowhere seems to have it in stock.:( I was thinking of getting it online but I don't wanna part with my hard earned cash for something I at least haven't tried on.

In which case, you might need a Medium in a Hornet. I've got two Arais which are sized Medium and I had to get a Large Hornet to fit. However, as you've suggested, it'd be far better to try it on before purchase. Even if you can't find a Hornet to try get your head into another model of Shoei to check the fit as it's not just the size and there's a bit of a difference between the shape of Arais and Shoeis.

I'd agree with all that Gracious. It's a grand lid. :nod

You can't get dark or iridium visors for it though like you can for the Arai TourX, so I went with the genuine Shoei tinted visor and the darkest pinlock I could get for a recent ride across the US which worked very well. :thumb2

you CAN get iridium visors from Hong Kong but they are about £80 plus P&P...

I found that I was a slightly bigger size in my Hornet. I spent ages in a shop trying to work out which size to get. Realistically I was half way between large and medium - I ended up going for medium - slightly 'snug' at first (and I did fret that I'd ballsed up and it was too small) but it's bedded in perfectly and is the best helmet I've owned.

As others have said, I'd never buy a lid without trying it first.

Thanks

Thanks guys for all the info:D. I'm gonna see if I can get a bike shop to order it in for me in a small and a medium. Better to be safe than sorry
