I have been pontificating for a while about buying a Shoei Multitec (not a C3 or system 6).

Unfortunately I am one of those who takes ages to make up their mind, not being the impulsive type. It's not the cost it's the making the decision i.e..........are they much noisier than my present XR1000, do they "creak", are they flimsy etc.

Well ahem......................this is a very cheeky question I know, but is there anyone in the north Hants area who has a small/medium Multitiec they could let me have a ride with. I promise I do not have bubonic plague of the scalp.

Is this a question too far ?

Portsmouth do you

Hi there,

I've got one here down in Portsmouth that I'am about to stick on fleabay, if you can come down you can see what you think. Its a small but i normally take a 57 / med so was surprised when this size actually fitted ! Drop me a P.M if this is any good for ya.

Les

Thanks again to Les049 for very kindly letting me have a run in his Shoei Multitec. What did I reckon of it in comparison to my XR1000.............

Seemed no noisier, but then the level of noise in any helmet depends for me in how the ear plugs go in.
Very comfortable, typical Shoei quality.
I didn't get any strange creaks or whistling noises.
Opening top vent you get a noticable breeze.
Flip up works well and what a pleasure it was to go into a garage, wait at a level crossing, and ride through town with it up getting the breeze in the face.
Strange though how I normally wear a medium size Shoei but this one as a small was not as tight.

All in all felt just like a normal full face to me so I will be going out to buy a Shearwater version asap.

Thanks again Les !

No Worries

As i said not a problem Steve, like to think someone would do the same for me one day.

The great thing about it is using it these last few days has made me realise what a nice helmet it actually is and I no longer want to get rid of it so will be using it as my work helmet.

A little know fact is that if you happen to be an AA member you get 15% off at Hein Gericke. Helmet City will give 10% off if you don't take the free gifts they offer. (Shoei jacket & t.shirt)
