Shoei Neotec

When you fitted the pinlock visor did you rotate the pins to push the visor onto the outer visor ?.

incidentally, my lid was one of the 1st batch imported, so it had to go back for the vent mod. It still lets in cold air at the top so it didnt cure the fault. It also lets water run down the inside of the visor. All in all i dont think this lid is as good quality as previous Sheois. wont buy another one.

Hi, yes rotated the pins. just cant really understand the misting issue as it is only one side almost as if something is blocked. This may sound a dumb question but what was the vent mod?

on the early helmets the top vent did not completely close, which allowed cold air/water into the top of the helmet. Mine had the mod fitted but it still doesnt seal properly.

Had mine since Santa gave me one for Xmas and used it for the two weeks commuting and I really like it.

Had an S1 before but trying the S1 on in the shop and then the Neotec, the Shoei was a much nicer fit.

I find it as quiet as the S1 but I still always wear earplugs.

I did find though that the was water coming in through the chin vent when it rained when it was open and it was that was blowing drops of water up onto the inside of the visor (and my specs) rather then it coming in from the top.

I contacted Feridax and they have asked for it to be returned for 'adjustments' after I read online (somewhere) it was a problem but that that they would fix it for free.

So will take it into the dealer tomorrow and hopefully it will be sorted.

Overall I really like the fit and the quality feel and once this little problem is sorted I'll be well happy.

Bloody Hell that's good, what company was that?
I don't have anywhere around here to try one on so might just have to take a punt.
I've got a large Shoei Raid 2 at the moment, do you think I'd be the same with a Neotec, wondered if you are a large then it would be large throughout the range?
I don't know if there are any differences as this is the only helmet I have owned.

My Neotec still hasnt won me over, definately more noisy than my old System 6 but i dont think it leaks as much

Was from lids direct I think (will check when it comes in the post) I teamed with another buyer to get a deal for two. Sweet. Other vendors were selling for £350 at the show. I have had 4 shoei's all in large and all fit perfect, but would be best for you to try. Don't think you'll get for less than £350 even if you beg!

I am with you there. With all the reviews saying how quiet it is, I was rather surprised at the wind noise compared to the System 6 (I always wear ear plugs). Very comfy though, the vents are great and it does not seem to leak in the rain.

Overall it is ok rather than brilliant, and I am pleased I got a good deal.

what was the outcome of your neotec ?

I found that now Ive removed the chin curtain it solves all the misting up problems

Interesting has wind noise volume increased at all??

No not really its quite acceptable, try it you can always put it back

I found with the chin curtain in place it misted up as soon as it was cold and/or wet and with it removed it was noisy and too breezy. Time for a modification I thought, and what was needed was a smaller chin curtain. I didn't want to muller the original one just in case the plan didn't work so I looked around the house for some suitable material and found one new shoe inner sole in the shoe cupboard (where did the other one go??). I used the old curtain as a template and took off another few mm or so off.

The misting up is much improved now and the noise and draft increase is minimal so the helmet is fit for purpose as a year round commuting lid, although I find it annoying that the visor self-closes from the smallest opening point once I get up to ~40MPH. All in all I preferred my old Shoei Raid but the Neotec was great in the summer.

I bought a neotec 4 weeks ago, and from day one it was misting and getting condensation in the left hand corner. I adjusted the pin lock so many times I had a pair of pliers in my pocket. No matter how many times I adjusted it, it never cleared up. I finally went to the dealer today who tried to blame me for wrong adjustment. (B####cks) he cleaned it adjusted it and of I went on my merry way, well about 1 mile before I returned to the dealer who said he has never come across this before. Any no resolution yet but the dealer is getting in touch with someone on Monday in Halesowen. Don't no whats there. I ,ll update you on my findings but I think I am gonna have to send it off to get sorted. Massive let down with a big trip only weeks away.

That may be Feridax who were the main agent at one time.

I'm looking to get a Neotec soon, best price I can find so far online is £469!! Anyone know of any better deals?

Also, can't decide between mat black or anthracite??

A friend has just bought a Neotec; dealer (P&H in Crawley) was offering 6 months interest free credit, so he took it.

Toss a coin if you can't decide on the colour of the paint, it's your head.

Bought one last may, more road noise than my schuberth but more comfortable and a better fit for my shape of head, have ridden in rain/sleet/cold without pin lock and I'm still alive - no problem with misting that slightly opening the visor didn't cure.

Only thing I don't like - the tuft of hair like a micro Mohican

I find mine self closes above about 45mph which is a pain in the arse commuting down a busy A1M on a cold, rainy morning when the traffic speed is fluctuating.

Im a shoei fan and so recently treated myself to a brand new Neotec in medium, however after wearing it once today, its not for me, its not as quiet as my expirit 2 so instead brought a new ltd expirit instead.

I will list it in the FOR SALE section shortly
