I have a Shoei Neotec 2, with a Sena SRL fitted. The sound is shite, and is well known to be shite because Sena upgraded the headphones on a later model.

Now I see that Sena have a new model of the SRL. My cunning plan was to buy a new SRL (there seem to be 2 versions), fit that to my helmet and fit the old one to Mrs Berins helmet for an upcoming trip as she doesn’t listen to music.

Only, my helmet, bought 3 odd years ago, is a 2018 model and Sena say the new version of SRL only fits the 2019 onwards Neotec 2.

I didn’t even know there were 2, Neotec 2’s.

Anyone have any suggestions where I can find out if it’s possible to fit the old SRL to a new Neotec and a new SRL to an old Neotec?

A cunning plan!
I thnk I have done this exact thing. My SRL failed after about 18 months, and the best I could get was a good discount on the replacement.
However when I opened up the helmet to fit the new one I had to resort to a bit of "adjustment" here and there - I can`t say exactly what (old age? I forget!) but I think its the moulding around the mic base.
And yes, the sound is better.
But, depending how much you use comms, and how much you value the input of Mrs B? I would consider biting the bullet to get a pair to match. Ours always sounded a bit fuzzy until they were the same model

My Neotec2 was modified by Ultimate Hearing Protection in Sidcup to allow use of my in-ear custom moulded monitors instead of the original helmet mounted speakers, via a 3.5mm stereo jack socket. Whilst quite an expensive solution, the sound quality, comfort and noise protection is superb.

Hmmm. I have some UE in ear monitors. Doesn't say anything about modding the SRL on their website though.

I bought the helmet and SRL from Motolegends - I may see if they can fit the latest SRL to my helmet and the old ones to Mrs' Berins. Then if she says something I don't want to do I can just say I didn't hear properly.
