On the road, for now:-)
I've seen a few gs with shorter rear indicator stalks but the standard lamps. How do you do that?.. Is there a conversion kit that's not too expensive?

On another note what can I go to make my well worn fork legs look better, the paint is naff. Maybe some kind of oversleave?!:thumby:

There is a hollow tube between the frame bracket and the indicator head, you just need to remove that. I seem to remember that it needs different fixing bolts but Vern did mine when he fitted my Worldbeater panniers and so I can't remember exactly what was done.

For the fork legs you can paint the lower part with Hammerite smooth silver aerosol, quite easy to use and a reasonable match for the original. I can't help with the main tubes which are blue on mine, they were still in good order so I left well alone.

Be Seen !

You need to cut the threaded bar inside the Indicator stalk , and the stalk .

There is a hidden danger in this , in so far as you are decreasing the
visability of your indicators ,
I have indicator relocators , which mount to the Same mount points as
the standard , but push the actual indicator to the Rear of the pannier ,
increasing visability ..

For your fork legs try Rub 'n' Buff. It's an art product I believe but it works wonders and you can do it in situ. Do a Google search for it. Suits BMW matt alloy very well. A tiny amount goes a long way.

Plenty of bikes have indicators built in to the rear light cluster, my vern indicator stalks are fine and can be seen exactly the same as the standard indicators:blast

You could mount them on a broom handle, but a blind driver is a blind driver, if they can't see my indicators it won't be the indicators fault:bounce1

As for fork legs, try these, they hide a multitude of sins! http://www.ruggedroads.com/shop/art...U5WMz6QTisq1FmOz6&shop_param=cid=49&aid=M004&

Another way is to undo the clamp that secures the lamp to the stalk. Remove the lamp and spacer put them on some threaded bar or a cut down bolt with the head removed. The clamp inside the light is strong enough to secure it to the bolt. The wires then just run through the drain hole in the bottom of the lamp, and you still have your long stalks if you want to replace them in the future. :beerjug:

M12 bolts iirc.
