My 1150 sometimes doesn't reach 5 bars on the temperature gauge for 8 miles, on a wet cold day on the motorway, even 15 miles!

In reality this probably won't do any harm, but it's nice to know that it's at full temp. & burning off the condensation.

I had a similar problem within 3mths of getting my 1150. After 7yrs with a 50+ mile commute, my job was transferred to a branch which was only 2-3miles from home. Tried the bus for a week & got so p'd off that, when I got home one night & my wife told me she needed a new dress for some "do" we were going to, I told her I'd take her shopping for a dress but she had to come shopping for a scooter with me.

She told me I looked gay on a scooter & that I should get a small trail bike instead, so now I've got the CRM250 & can go out green-laning at the weekend... What a Brucie bonus!! The other benefit with a 2-stroke is that they warm up quicker & don't suffer as much, doing short journeys. The wicked powerband is just another Brucie bonus.

I got a Vespa ET4 125cc 4 stroke scooter to do just the same sort of journey in another life.....

...it was the best 2 wheeled vehicle I have ever owned.....period...

£5 to do a 100 miles of (flat out....60mph...) commute.....

...surpringly quick and very embarrasing to many more expensive and so say quick machines away from the mirriad of red lights.....

....more nimble than a nimble thing in dodging between anything that was stopped or not lane dodging quicker than I was....

....reliable as a Swiss watch and a sinch to service....

....practicle......could get a shed load of shopping on the way home from work......

....and last and very far from least....it was bleedin' good fun!

PS:....it was 'very ' intimate when two up but with the right passenger on board see item above!!!!.....snurrrr.....snurrrr!!!


....I have regretted selling it and am always plotting as to how I can afford to get another one....

Mine's reached 5 bars after around 4 miles usually... but that includes a couple of minutes on tickover before I move off....

Hmm...something doesn't add up! Surely a pedal bike is cheaper than a KTM200 or 600Tenere?!

A pedal bike... bet I'd end up spending 3-400 quid on one.... it would have to be one with all the bells and whistles... I just can't help myself

But two more power-sapping right angles in the drive than a chain kept nice and clean inside a neat plastic casing like on lots of Dutch town bikes.

Cool and quirky though Notice over here the only ones that seem available are the type in the picture... in the USA they've got all sorts including nice looking mountain bikes with shaft drive...
