I've just had lowering shocks fitted to my 1250, and as a result the bike doesnt lean very far once the side stand is down. Is having the side stand shortened the best option? I rang my local motorrad today and they said there isn't a shorter one available to buy.
Just wondered what they do with factory lowered 1250s? Or are they unavailable?
Any ideas? Thank you😊

A bit more info would be helpful ;)

What bike exactly ? GS/GSA? what model year ?

How much have you had it lowered?

All have a big influence on what fits or dosent fit :D

Ive just had a factory low 1250 for 10 weeks and my current GS is a factory low, and the factory low side stand is an option ;)

According to real oem

They only go to 2020 model year - and it's option X499A

Sorry it's a 2022 gs. No idea how much it's lowered. Touratech shocks put in instead of factory ones. I can flat foot both feet instead of flat toes iykwim.

Mine is a standard regular height 2021 R1250GSA Rallye.
Taking it home for the first time, parking up outside my house, the pavement in front of my garage slopes so the bike was almost bolt upright on the side stand. Unlike my old 2007 R1200GSA which leant over on the pavement.

We have kids coming up and down our lane constantly so I was not happy leaving the new bike standing upright.

I bought a secondhand side stand and had it shortened so the bike leant in on the side stand on my pavement.

I love my bike but after spending over £18000 on it new, there are some experienced things about it that I wished I’d known about it before I’d parted with my cash.

I have a factory lowered 2022 1250GSA. The side stand is definitely shorted than the standard model GSA
