All you shorties look ridiculous on big GSs and you know it.

Stay off 'em and leave it to us big people.

We look stupid on race replicas and WE know it.

Oi

That's heightist.
Stop it, or I'll punch you in the knee.

I'd rather be short on a GS than uncomfortable on a sportsbike.
By the way, short people look silly on sportsbikes too. It's hardly the most natural position. Unless..... :ymca

Been a farly short fat bastard, whot bike should I ride then (other than a exersise bike ) :D :D

I ride a 2000 1150 GS and I'm 5'8" with a 29" inseam and had my seat customized by Rich's seats in Seattle Wa . He placed a 1/2" thick gel pad over a reduced/cut down foam pad. He said that the gel pad was worth 2" of foam and I would say it's worth 1 1/2". This is still a nice pad.
He was concerned when I had him remove more foam before inletting the gel pad than he thought was correct for comfort. I told him that comfort was important but controlling the bike at a stop concerned me more. So he went a bit less on thickness than normal. I can now touch the balls of both feet on the ground with the lowest setting on the stock rear shock and can easily be flat footed on one foot without trouble. A great confidence builder as the machine likes to fall over at a stop. I have taken a couple of 2 day 550 mile plus trips double up and have had very little discomfort. Not Iron Butt class but distance nevertheless. Someone in the UK must be doing this type of work. To find out more about this check out richscustomseats.com.

And so, O great one what height should all we "shorties" rush down to our yam dealers and chop our beloved Gs's for R1's then ?

I'm 5'6" with a 29" inside leg and I ride the 1150GS with no probs. The biggest problem I've encountered is filtering with them bloody huge bars..... Now I just intimidate the buggers outta the way !! :thumb
