Should have kept my 1150 :-/

I,m in the same boat right now got a semi tidy 1150 got most af the trinkets fitted by myself ,Zegas ,mra screen ,Remus engine bars etc ,Ive looked at replacing it ,fancied a Guzzi Stelvio dont know about the GS 1200,But I keep pinching myself I feel I dont need much more than the old gs as its not Spain or California I live but Scotland and it pishes all the time so I dont ride as much as I used to ,much to the wifes relief.Sold my 1100 and still regret doing that as it was a crackin bike ,Ma Tuppence worth:beerjug:

My old 1150 had loads of. Bits on it and I could ride it harder as the front end was planted where as the 1200 feels really light!!

Occasionally, just occasionally, a gem like the OP appears in the LC section. :JB:D:D

I don't own a WC but have ridden one for 1000km. If you're suggesting that the 1150 handles better than than the new bike then there's either something very wrong with your riding or your new bike. The WC is a lot better than the 1200 which is a lot better than than the 1150 when it comes to pure handling.

That's a lovely looking 1150 though...should have kept it :p

Iirc correctly, your bike is on pcp.
Does that make any difference to how SBW respond, do you actually own the bike when on pcp or is it a hire agreement?

Never fully understand the score as I just saved up the dosh for mine

At the end of the day I'm still buying the bike, so shouldn't be any different to any other customers

Wow, what a nice looking bike, love the colour scheme.

I'd be popping it back to the dealer rather then piss about - and if you ever read any of Nutty's posts he's been banging on about the GSA TB since April... feck even I knew they were doing one and I ride a KTM and a Harley.....

I'll try adjusting the rod
on gear lever

Hoping it's not clutch pack maybe just sticky rubber cover on clutch lever?

The bike is under warranty so get SBW to sort it out to your satisfaction. :)

No use in keep harking back to the cretaceous period. :D

Ah....had one of those as my first GS and the best paint scheme......and paint - that's when paint used to stay on the bike :) Onto my 7th now - still love em - even with all their faults.

Just been out and spent an hour cleaning the GSA , it still looks dirty the panels are flimsy, awkward to get into gaps/ behind clocks /screen etc, the exhaust behind the valve / cover looks like a 10 yr old bike the switch gear is dirty - engrained almost , can't wipe the boxes as it will scratch the aluminium - a fork seal keeps "misting" dealer tells me it's ok they all do that!!
engine is a bit rattly- even for a GS I think,

17k for a bike and I get shit all up the back of my legs and all over pillions legs!.

The BMW tank bag is marking the tank

on WOT the bike feels a bit hesitant- running lean??
The clutch lever sticks a bit and have to flick it fully off with fingers,
the front brakes have squealed since 400 miles, the rear brake judders at low speed using front brake lightly( yes I usually use he back !) linked brakes?
Number plate is delaminating ,
finding neutral sometimes is a PITA! Speedo over reads by 5-7 mph
, can't read speedo on the move too dam small ,
drone from front end a bit like wind noise but not! Dealer said it was tyres so changed them- still there! I think it's the gap in front fender?
Manual headlight adjuster doesn't seem to do anything?

Heel plates are all scuffed already
(
Put tape on frame to protect it from rubbing)

And to top it off my friend just bought a new GSA TB yesterday- the bike I wanted but dealer said they didn't do a GSA just a GS - 2 months later they are here!! Dealers a cock!

Mines done 2500 miles & 2 months old not impressed!!

Owned most boxes incl 1150, despite the 1150 being a 'nice bike' no way would I take a backward leap my 1200GS te is awsome - show room condition as looked after 8.5k on the clock,I am the second owner, only issue being very slight corrosion in the usual spot cured by FOC new engine / gearbox. no other issues - just looked after properly. all of my older BM'S had issues incl the 1150 (clutch change not straightforawrds / throttle butterfly ticking its tits off for example) all of this whining about the WC is disproportionate to reality
