Hi guys. I really like the look of this this site and as a newbie hope you don't mind me asking dumb questions. I know better than to believe everything that I read, but the owners manual for the 2013 gs recommends using super unleaded fuel. Do any of you guys believe it will make that much difference? I've had my shiny new gs for a month and it's fantastic. Can't believe moving from the standard stuff will make that much difference.

Welcome to the nuthouse.:thumb A tip would be to read as many threads relating to your bike as possible, before posting.:rob This lot enjoy frightening new members.:D

I run all my bikes on super unleaded, as it makes them faster and gives better MPG.:blagblah:D Or that's what I tell myself. In the real world, it probably doesn't make much of a difference.:thumb

Yes, it will make a difference. The GS has knock sensors which enable it to retard the ignition timing if it detects pre-ignition. Using super unleaded will allow the ECU to run more ignition advance without the knock and you will, therefore get a bit more power. Use regular unleaded and the ECU will retard the ignition a bit to overcome any knock and you'll get a bit less power.

It means run away from Dahoum before he gets a good reaming .... :thumb2
