Should I buy a R1100 RS???

IMHO................ hold out for a well cared for 1100RS, there seem to be many appearing for sale for very little money. Never mind all the swapping wheel stuff etc., the GS, RT, R and RS are all different bikes

Bide your time with a wad of notes in your back pocket, keep looking, wait for the gem to turn up and then pounce.

Indeed wise words,

I will say from what I have seen is that it is a buyers market at the moment, I guess with the licence change etc etc etc it is showing less people on bikes and as such less of a resale market, I have lost count the amount of people and old friends that have given up all together..

However in saying that I have seen a few people are pricing their bikes with a firm asking price, I have just had two replies back and neither are willing to negotiate...

I will set a deadline for 5th July as I am on annual leave for 17 days and what to get away for a week on "a" bike, the GS if needs be.. If nothing can tick all my boxes regarding price, service and mileage I will hold out until the new year..

If you can find a r1100s sport they are the same spec as the boxer cup version, they just don't have the paint job or the laser system, mine had the wider rear wheel and upgraded shocks, the sport versions have yellow springs on the shocks and are a fair bit cheaper than the Mamola replicas.loads of info on the boxertrix forum.

As stated earlier in the thread, the bike I would love to own would be the R1100S "PREP" which from what I can understand is basically a BC bike just without such luxury as the belly pan and paint job. These sell for around £3500-4500 and sadly I cannot justify having that amount in a second bike, mainly due to plans of emigrating late next year if all goes to plan.

The hunt continues..

i was offered the suspension off a boxer cup for £250 tobgo on my std bike, the wider wheel dosent add much to the riding experience. Just get a standard bike and fit some new decent suspension the tourqe arm off a GS and you will have something that will arguably ride better than a Boxer Cup, the higher sport suspension was developed to create more ground clearance on the race bikes.
