Thanks for the reponses fella's, was away with a couple of mates at the weekend on the BM and loved it, both had a GS1100 and between them and some of you lot may have talked me into keeping what i got. It hit 50k while we were away and still feels like a new bike so it seems a shame to out it for no real reason, think i will spend some of the dosh on it instead, perhaps a new few bits and bobs to bring back to perfect again.

Do it! Spend the cash on the bike, you will not look back! Buy some decent after market dampers & some Hella lamps. I also think Migsel's, Vern's and Ricardo Kuhn's stuff looks to be some of the best kit you can buy for a GS. Good luck :thumb

Cool as :censor::censor::censor::censor:, and built it yourself you say. I know guys ( including myself ) that would sell their own internal organs for a bike like that. :thumb

Best regards
Allan

if I had the cash I would but unfortunately Im skint and could not part with my GS as I need an everyday bike. 7.5k seem a bit cheap I know guys here ( no nonsense choppers http://www.nononsensechoppers.com ) that charge many times that for a custom bike.

Hi harrison,

Have you sold that chop yet? If not, I am seriously interested!

I am selling a 2003 1150 ADV I am at present living in Holland and it is on Dutch plates. But I can sought that out if you are interested.

I am willing to exchange if you can let me know the price. My bike is currently on www.marktplaats.nl under Motoren & brommers / motoren BMW / r1150GS. Look out for mine it is based in Zutphen.

Fully loaded with BMW Alu Panniers and heaps of touratech kit.

Hi all, had the 1100GS for only a couple of months now and am loving it, does everything i want it to and more that i havent even used yet, My problem is i have possibly just sold my Harley Shovel bobber chop and have some extra money in the bike fund after i buy a mates hd sporty , should i move up the ladder and get a 1150? possibly a adventure, with the money i get for mine and the left over from the harley i should be able to go to about 5.5 -6k would i get a decent one for that.

Or should i just save the cash?

cheers
Neil

If you are happy with the 1100, then keep it and use the money for a touring holiday on it! I've got an 1150 and I do love it dearly, my only criticism is that 6th gear is too high. I would prefer a more usable ratio. :thumb

Hobbo,

tempting offer but i have decided to stick with the 1100 for now, at least until next year, may then look into getting a late 1150 adventure. As for the chop it will hopefully be going this weekend!

ADV SOLD

Thanks for the reply harrisn,

But I have now sold the ADV and on the search for either a good shovel or WL who knows what luck may bring?

Success and safe riding,

Hobbo

If it is working - why fix it? My 1150 is 3 years old in the next week and I've just had a new clutch, gearbox oil seal, and clutch slave fitted. Some have no problems - but why spend, as I did, to upgrade into a heap of expense. The bike came from SPC.
