Should I get the low suspension GS TE?

I picked up the Triple Black yesterday with lowered suspension - perfect fit and I love how I can manoeuvre it around with ease both feet grounded.

BMW have certainly been ahead of the rest on this front. All the other ADV bikes I looked at didn't have a lowered option (apart from the variable seat height in some cases) and some needed a pair of steps. I could easily paddle the standard GS with the seat in the low position solo so with the lowered suspension it should be even easier solo and managable 2 up. I could also get the standard seat if I find the low one either too cramped or hard, what I obviously can't do is lower the suspension once I have the bike, so the lower option gives me more flexibility.

I'm a similar build by the sound of it, standard bike with bmw low seat works fine for me. Bike will be easier to sell on as a standard when the time comes.

Why will it be easier to sell a standard model? Have you seen the glut of standard 2013 models in the dealers lately, lowered models are at a premium to find.

Just chopped my lowered 2013 against a lowered TB and the price given was more than fair given the showroom was already crammed.

I think the initial problem when released was there were no lowered models to evaluate, so it was a leap of faith, but having an inside leg 28.5" the lowered model I stills great confidence to touch down.

The guys at BMW I've spoken to about lowered GSs reckon used ones are not for sale long because they are few and far between but lots want one.

Brilliant news, though as I've not got my hands on mine yet the thought of trade in values hadn't crossed my mind. However SWMBO is the low suspension version....wonder if I'll get a better trade in on her?

You want regret it Littleade low is the best decision, when on my lowgs I feel that lm sitting in the bike and no issues wilt the screen all plus 'so enjoy my friend.

If she's a blond bob, size 10 I'll give h̶e̶r̶ you a sizeable amount (no offence meant ;-) )

Best offer I've had so far so how can I take offence? but under the trades discription act I need to declare she's niether a blonde bob, nor a size 10. If she was.........

Cheers Viffer. It's my intention to enjoy. I didn't think what other positives there may be going low other than being able to get my little stubbies on the deck, but as I really liked tbe riding position of my R1150R which I also 'sat in' you've just confirmed I've made the best choice. It seems a long time ago that I had the Explorer at the top of my list.
