Really unsure what tank protection to fit on my new GSA.
So I’m sure you guys and gals might have some sound advise.
On my GS I used a small rubber protector, but that won’t do on my newly acquired big fat one :green gri
Considering the clear film variety, but it looks a real faff to fit involving baby shampoo, a blower and a scrapper
View and (better still) pics would be appreciated.

After about 750 miles I noticed some rubbing on the decal on the left side of the tank, presumably from where my knee was pressing - I'm guessing the stitching on my trousers was rough enough to cause a bit of damage. I have bought some clear plastic, self adhesive protectors from Nippy Norman which offer protection and are fairly discreet (a little bit more shiny that the Exclusive paintwork). Three parts - each side and centre,

Looks good and easy to fit

What are you wanting to protect the tank from ? Coffee stains ?
Apart from the odd rubber sticky pad on the front of the tank in the old days I’ve never fitted ‘protection’ to any tank as it’s never been a consideration, so just curious ?

It's the one area I think you can leave alone to be fair.

Yes to engine protection, but bodywork panels are cheap enough to replace/repair. If I was to choose anything it would be PPF.

The only protection I've fitted to my new GSA is: mudguard extender, mud sling and TFT thing.
I always think that tank protectors look much worse than a few scuffs!

Just remembered... Had it ceramic coated too. Doubt that that offers any real protection, but should make cleaning a bit quicker.

No , when you move around on the bike your gear rubs , causing marks , perhaps you should try it , body position , throttle usage ...... heee:green gri:green gri

I need it due to my 138mph nuts colliding with the tanks all the time , 3m heli film works a treat :thumb2

+1 for the 3m film.
if you ride in less than perfect conditions, the pants rubbing against the fueltank will act as sandpaper. Same goes for a tankbag. The GSA does not have panels on the side of tank. Given that the 3M film is next to invisible and easy to remove. I find it a cheap way to protect the bike during everyday use.
However if I was a sunshine rider driving like an old lady, I wouldn't need them...

Swoon...

Maybe put some proper Eazi-Grip on... You'll find it then takes much less inner thigh pressure to pin your one-piece leathers to it... really helps with arm pump when you're chasing records
