Should I sell the bike?

Is this the same guy who came round to my house a couple of weeks ago and bought a bag for his 1200? Then got all excited about buying a bullet cam to film all his biking adventures? Come on mate, if you were a female I'd put it down to the wrong time of the month, so unless you're keeping something from us, it's just a little phase you're going through, it'll pass.

Stick with it.

getting out of biking isnt such a bad thing and it doesnt have to be for ever

I got out a few years back - I didnt have a bike for a few months, at least nothing that was on the road - I found I had got to a point that I wasnt phaised by other idiots on the road and decided to stop riding as for a bit... not long term, but when I got back on a bike I didnt have the same invincible feeling - which I think is a good thing...

I dont really know you, but if you think its time to stop riding for a bit then thats your call, but it doesnt have to be a perminant thing...

I would have regretted it big time.

Took the small roads home tonight and it was a BLAST! Although that Ducati Hypermotard looked tasty in IOW :D
 
I was getting rather concerned about you today Novice, everytime I looked around for you you were perving over some sports bikes tut tut, dont do it mate. Glad you got back ok, nick said you were knackered, its great when you get back home isnt it after a day out riding.

Why I don't go out on it. It's such a palava putting on the kit on ... even an aerostich. Then I get bored riding by myself .. then I hurt my back because I am pathetically weak and I use my back/body to push the bike around rather than my arms :rolleyes: (which then means I can't stand up straight for a week :( )

I think I am weird ... Anyone can offer any decent advice :rob

My working arrangements mean I hardly ever get out on the bike - but I decided you either Have A Bike - or You Don't!
I agree with other comments about not having to prove to anyone that we're all Rough, Tough 365 days a year "Bikers".

I don't like wearing a wet suit, getting rain down my neck and don't mind admitting to being a "weekend, fair weather bike rider".
WTF is a "biker" anyway.

Just enjoy any opportunity that comes along. Plan ahead to ride to certain places or events just for fun. I just like to blow the cobwebs away as often as possible. I don't need to go LWR or LWD.

And learn whatever tricks you need to handle the bike more comfortably - on the move and otherwise.
 
I spend the whole week driving my car and i thought about selling my 1150 a few weeks back as not using it as much.
After much thought i have decided not too and i'm glad i didn't.

Been out all day today (8hrs) and it felt great!!:D



It will soon be summer longer evenings and great weekends.

Find some others to go out with and your soon start grinning again!!!

Feeling much the same

My biking (1150GSAing) which I used to love has just about ceased, never really enjoyed it tha same after losing a good mate just over a year back. Bought a trials bike & now compete just about every weekend, this floats my biking boat - but every time I look at the tricked up GSA still in my garage & think I should sell I just can't bring myself to :(

BTW if anyone sees this that was at the caf opposite The Staggs on the A623 to Chappel en le Frith this a.m. (several GS's there) it was me in the CRV with the Beta 250 on the back that madly blew the horn as I passed - Hmm, is that me trying to tell myself I should have been on the GS :confused::confused:

Perhaps need to to give the old gal an outing ;)

But you have got to admit that Ducati with race termis and carbon bits was the dogs! :D .... but at £10k .. it's a little out of range at the moment :(

Maybe give it a few years and that will be pretty cheap second hand. An old ducati is like a ...... :D

and when you get fed up just walk away from it and let it drop :thumb2
then have more fun a pick it up :blast
 
Don't do it

If it's a bad day for you then don't go out on the bike, but don't forget that if you sell your bike and then buy it back you are out at least £1,000. Have a weekend with your feet up, then try the bike when you are feeling energetic. It doesn't have to be work!

Yeah - back to reality. Stick to the GS.

Despite many days of less than perfect commuting (=high winds + rain + dark) I rode home tonight - in the dry for a change - and it all felt good, solid. The GS is a good bike. Not perfect, but good.
