Should we have a sticky "My BMW ABS unit needed replacing after five years" thread?"

Like one of those liong running threads we had for the fuel-pump controller issue?

7 years in and still running fine....

Of course, I have now jinxed it! :blast

I think the rot set in with the partially integrated system used on '07 bikes and after ...

You'll need to balance it up with another thread of "Have you not had an ABS pump failure after 5 years?" Mine's in that category :thumb

Can't we put them all together in a "My battery (x3), fuel controller (x2), rear wheel bearing's and the shock absorber all in 4 years" sticky, that should just about cover most things.........:D
Despite all the ......"mine's been fine" replies - for a supposedly high quality German engineered product, the amount of negative comments appearing on this forum speaks for itself......!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuel Pump

I just had BMW replace my ABS controller and they found a crack in the fuel pump. Should we add the Fuel pump also? 07 model

You forgot "my headlamp bulb failed at 90k", "my centre stand has got stone chips", "my boots get covered in shite", "I had a puncture on the way to Tesco's and "I can't believe I have to put fuel in it" threads :tears:tears

Get em fixed and man up FFS :augie

What he said... And be thankful you don't have the servo model!

I am getting it fixed, at the same time as I get a new fuel level sensor foil. Then I'm off touring.

But I can honestly say this bike is made out of unreliable parts and I will never buy another BMW.

Hardly mush.......!!! I just put a bit away for bike repairs which get done as and when. My bike gets ridden and isn't a garage queen so what needs to be done gets done and a but of "patina" doesn't bother me one bit:thumb

Sensible solution.............difference is if you don't ride a GS you can spend it on accessories and not repairs. :hide
