Showing KMP instead of MPH

Apologies if this is a numpty question, it probably is. I have checked the manual, can't see the wood for the trees maybe, and can't find the answer to my question. I want to change the digital speed display from MPH to KPH for my European tours. Any ideas?

I asked a BMW tech guy at the show,he said we are always being asked for that !!!
We can do it at the dealers!! Lot of use that is on the way to the ferry.
A guy next to me over heard my question and laughed saying I can do on my 10 year old Honda!!
Come on BMW wake up,finish the job off and make a great touring bike better,
Ie mph/kph flip
Lockin satnav,
Wasted storage space instead of radio pack.

You can, but you need to find someone with a GS911. Unfortunately I am a bit far away as I would gladly do it, but I am sure there is a tosser nearby who could help.

Thanks for that, thought it might be the case, pretty stupid of BMW. The satnav can be locked, parts cost around £70 but it is a DIY fix, will do it to mine next week.

Yes I have read that thread thanks.
So why couldn't BM do it from the beginning ?? It would have cost peanuts!!

No , and not even simply with a GS911 either ! (You have to reconfigure the bike to European spec ? ) ... and then back again after.

Would be a really simple software tweek if BMW could be arsed ...................

Yes ,so why didn't they include it in the bike settings menu??
It's not much good if you can't do it instantly when you turn up for the ferry etc.

Yes of course . I do as a 2nd best option,but it would be so much better to make use of the superb digital bike speedo.

I suppose that is one way but it seems a shame that they haven't incorporated it in the bikes software. They should also sell a locking kit for the satnav and stop the pillions legs getting covered in shite but they always seem to just do 99%. I suppose they have to give Touratwat, Puig and Wunderlich something to do. Not knocking the bike its still the best out there, for me, but a bit of extra effort next time BMW 9/10 must try harder!

I have emailed them to see if its possible to incorporate it into the next software update. If you don't ask........

I asked my dealer (bike not drugs) and he said can't be done as far as he knows
