Back in the 1970’s an inverted concrete arch was constructed under the river to prevent the inward movement of the bridge abutments which were forcing the centre of the bridge upwards.

Having just returned from Jasper and Milla’s cabin I can only reiterate what has been said above. The quality of the building and fittings are incredible, they have thought of everything you might need and included it.
The bed is big and comfy, the woodburner is very efficient and gives a warm cosy feel to the place.
THE VIEWS ARE STUNNING!
The cabin is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, on the common, away from the road.
A 20 minute walk from the gate across open common gets you to the remains of Iron Age hill fort, at least 4500 years old.
To top it all Jasper and Milla are warm, friendly, genuine people.
Did I mention the views are STUNNING!

Likewise, I have just returned from what can only be described as a 'tonic' of a get away, staying at Jasper's cabin.
The cabin is tucked away, nicely secluded with fantastic vistas, allowing you to simply relax and unwind, catch your breath, read a book and go for long walks in the open countryside (albeit a bit steep!). Its location means there is a lot to see or visit within a short drive, good nearby hostelries and beautifully appointed and equipped accommodation make it a super choice.
Jasper is such a nice guy - we will be back again; which is the best recommendation one can give.
Thank you John, really good to meet you both and thank you for your kind words. We had a glimpse of the Northern lights up here last weekend, I only just caught the tail end unfortunately, but it's something Milla has an app for and we always keep guests informed...see you next time
