I came across that when following up on your post re camping at Saumur. There can't be mushroom inside though?

The vehicle was showing an outside air temperature of 38.5 C yesterday afternoon, whilst on the move.

Even allowing for accumulated heat off the road and some error, that is hot.

They went off for a motorcycle ride, whilst I opted for an air conditioned lift to the supermarket, to get some bits’n’bobs and some cash.

Word now reaches us that Sid’s bike has broken down in or near Cahors, so we’ve hitched a trailer to Sid’s car. Now only awaiting a precise location before Operation Feck Me It’s Hot gets going.

I had a first on the journey after lunch, when I saw a tyre explode on an HGV. It was in lane one of the opposite two lane carriageway. It burst in two, horizontally, the cloud of smoke and Lord knows what else all but enveloping the trailer.

It must have frightened the poor sod who was just starting to overtake the truck as the two huge sections of tyre flew about and then hit the road in front of him. Significant lumps of rubber landed in front of me in lane one of the opposite carriageway. I can only wonder what the poor sod in the motorcycle encountered, as I saw him charging towards the spot about 30 seconds later.

That happed to me yesterday on the A27 just before Chichester on the way to dog sit for daughter, two cars in front of me on the outside lane of the dual carriageway, HGV on the inside lane with low loader and huge crane on board, the smoke started, then bit of tyre flinging about as I accelerated past... I've tyre marks on the bumper and roof of the car!
