Sid’s and Gedinne

What's the qota of British riders compeating this year Wapping; my mate said they were well down at Chimay last month; a mate of mine is riding his Manx; he's there now.

Well I was just loading the bike with my luggage having prepped it earlier.

One more check only to find that dipped beam has blown, so it will be off with some bits and pieces to gain access to replace the bulb ready for a 5.40am meet up to head to the Tunnel first thing. I'm looking froward to this year's event having missed it last year due to being hospitalised unexpectedly.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for good weather, but .........

I’ve now looked at the programme. Definitely fewer than usual.
That was the drift i was getting from the lads who came back from Chimay; the whole event seemed to have been turned down a notch; the municiple campsite next to the hospital in town was always packed; this year it was more of pick your own spot; even the Queen Mary was quieter; i did'nt ask if the prices at the supermarket had been hoiked like they usually were for the weekend; :D ( i must say i never had any problems with that; i always enjoyed the event enough for it not to bother me) folk have to make a living.

What on earth is that bike?
It's ...
  • Base Vehicle: BFG 1300 (a rare French touring motorcycle produced in the 1980s)
  • Engine: 1,299cc flat-four engine originally used in the Citroën GS automobile
  • Custom Style: Stripped-down cafe racer configuration with an exposed boxer engine, custom rear subframe, and a half-fairing windshield.
