Hi

I have gone on the site and registered at the recomendation of by local dealer as I rang to say I wanted some fog lights fitted not realising how complicated the whole thing is.

Briefly, I ride in Central London and would like some extra road prescence for safety and they seem like a good idea and look quite funky.

I am not bothered about them lighting up the road. My rural rides are daytime ones.

Can someone tell me what they would advise to fit, and then I can get them fitted for my Xmas Pressie from my Wife!

Cheers,

Welcome to the madhouse! ;)

Now put the kettle on, sit down and put a couple of days aside as your going to need them. Click on the search button and put in FOGLIGHTS or HELLA hit enter and you will see what I mean. :thumb

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I'd recommend Hella Micro DE fogs, mounted on a MiGSel light bar.

May as well have the Hella FF50s as well, wired into main beam.

If only sharks were dayglow

I only travel in heavy trafic infrequently and was going to fit extra lights for the same reason , however (a bit of trickcycling here) thinking from the perception point of WVM and the average commuter they will see lights as part of a multitude of other lights so it is possible there is no increase in heightened senses- if anything you may look more like a car.

The one thing that most motorists see - or even look for is the long arm of the law. Being aware of a nearby copper seems to be much more important than schoolkids, motorcyclists etc to most drivers and causes people to put down phones, not jump lights etc etc.

I ride a B+White with system panniers, I wear a HG high vis Voyager 2, white Shoei Syncrotec and have high vis stickers on the panniers (see other threads on what colour and where to get these at low cost).

I may look like poor mans CHiPs but I get instant response in most traffic situations, signifying I have been seen.

Go for the lights for visibility yourself but unless you fit blue lenses to the indicators ............

I am happy to be called a real _osser as people see through my disguise (what they dont know is that I have a magic truncheon in my pocket as well!)

I strongly recomend Touratech fog lights.I have the Xenon-fog instalation and works fine. You can get two fog lights instead. And they look cool too.
