Hello everyone,

I was interested to get thoughts on this product:

Side Panels for the R1200/1250GS

Is it too niche? Not really fussed by any wind blast to the legs? Not a product that you were aware even existed?

Let me know what you think!

It looks good , personally I like to remove panels, than add newer ones, easier when cleaning n servicing etc.

2 things stand out to me from the pictures;

1 - looks like topping up with oil would involve removing the panel?
2 - looks like it won't fit with engine bars?

You could buy goretex boots for the price of those bits of plastic.

They might create wind resistance (parachute effect) given they are behind the Cylinder heads and no wind deflection ahead of them (like on an RT)

Your shins will bang into them regularly. They will also trap dirt and bugs. Who invented this and why?

Seems as if it’d restrict leg space as others have said. Really don’t see the point.
Sorry.

I prefer engine bars. More use.

Half expected to be taken to Wunderlich’s site when I clicked on the link.
They have a habit of producing totally worthless overpriced crap to bolt on your already overweight bike.
Although. In fairness. They do sell some useful stuff.

These side panels will be available in different colours. Seriously!

Don’t follow the contours of the frame, can’t access oil filler, will catch your leg and will probably cause the bike to overheat.

Make your GS into a RT

Or just buy a 1200/1250 RT (which would be a better bike for the tarmac only GS riders)

Fanny flaps would serve more purpose

I’m waiting for someone to make a set of tyres out of fanny flaps. Imagine tyres that never wore out, might get a bit slippy when wet though.

Yeah, but imagine you want to go for a ride and your tyres have a headache
