Hiya all, just wondering what peeps are puttin on ther side stands to enlarge the foot, mines a 2011, i tried a cymarc one a couple of weeks back, but his just dont work on this year of bike, but ill give mark his due, he tried for me!, but there just wasnt enough clearence btween the side stand and the centre stand when they were both folded up, so i was just wondering if anybody else has come across this, and ifso has anyone found a solution???

The Wunderlich one works well for me, clamps down with three hex head screws, 6 k miles and it's not fallen off .... yet :-)

It's machined out to fit the twin cam sidestand foot perfectly.

My Wunderlich "Bigfoot" used to rattle, easily solved by removing it and using builders silicone sealant then refitting it. It had warped a little this becoming slightly loose. If fitting one I would recommend using a blob of it when fitting to prevent the same issue.

I use the Touratech one. Decent footprint, so it won't fall over in a muddy field either.:thumb:beerjug:

So it seems the wuderlich version works then, thats one i was lookin at, dunno wether im likin the hoof, nice workmanship tho!

footies

I've got a Dave GS special as fitted to the 1150 and now 1200, cut a bit of scrap to size (and make sure it dosent hit the side stand spring). glamp it in place with a clamp and four dabs of braze and job done cost nought. Works fantastic and easily removed just heat up and off!.

The Wunderlich one fits fine, but when I changed the OEM can to a BOS one, it hits the BMW guard on the link pipe rather than the rubber stop.
So there's a bit of a Ka-lunk as it goes back and a bit of wear on both parts but whatever. It'll be fine on the standard can.

I'm new to BMW with a GSA and love it. Yeah they all say that, but it really is great.

It does however lean a very long way over on the side stand compared to my Yamaha. So much that a more than average UK road camber has be really struggling to get it off the stand.

Has anyone used a longer side stand? Is it even a good idea? Do they exist without cutting and welding?

Wunderlich, top notch product , raises the bike a bit and the serated edge on the larger foot makes it easier to hook the stand down.
