Has anyone found a permanent solution to the bending side stand parts?
So far I have had the bushes & whatnot replaced 5 or 6 times under warranty. Anyone know of another system we can replace the origional with?

Not the sidestand, the BASE of the sidestand.
We all have to confront this issue sooner or later.

Woodys Wheel Works has built a steel replacement that fits straight on the bike:

I have bought one... just not had a chance to fit it yet :blast

You can contact him here: http://www.woodyswheelworks.com/

Thanks Mav

Thanks, it looks like a great option do all the other gubbins fit into place?

And next question is re your quote of "he who dies with the most toys wins"

So how many toys do you have?

Perhaps we should have an HP2 peeing contest.:pullface

I put the Woody,s bracket on my hp the other day. Very nice unit. Fitment just a tiny bit off no real problem. It is not only stronger but the lean angle is less then stock. Worth the money to me. My dealer where I bought the bike claimed that I must have hit something and would not warranty it. They are not trying to hard to make me keep spending money there. Have fun Richard.

The stock bracket is of aluminium. It bends no matter how careful you are.My dealer made a comment something like "what are those Germans drinking"!:mmmm
Anyway,Woody is the way to go.$220.00 with the grease nipple or 180.00 with out.

We just replaced one of the OEM side stand mounts, as it had begun to bend. BMW have come up with a new part for this, which is much stronger.

Same with me, purchased one & haven't had a chance to install it yet.

Guess I'll let the dealer install it as my second side stand kill switch just cracked on the way to work this morning. This one's only lasted about 6 weeks! Maybe I'll be able to nurse the 6 miles home without bypass wiring it again.

BMW North America said our bikes would NOT be getting the new steel bracket the German market was getting. They had no record of any failures of the alloy bracket here in the States!

So, I purchased Woody's bracket. Very high quality & they shipped the same day I ordered it. I should have installed it weeks ago.
