Exactly. I may have put a pound or two on in the last few weeks, but I’m pretty sure I don’t weigh as much as the bike!

Probably better to clamber aboard when it's on the centrestand but saying that, if I was feeling particularly weak and the panniers were on the bike then I would occasionally get on with the sidestand down. I expect I'm heavier than most on this site and it didn't do mine any harm.![]()
I know you mean well - but if I “clamber aboard when it’s on the centre stand” then both my feet are dangling about a foot away from the ground - what am I mean to do then?!?

I do keep a close eye on the lateral movement at the pivot and I found a good spare to keep in the garage “just in case”.
Is that the hip or the stand?
