I noticed that my side stand is wobbly in that it moves laterally (towards and away from the bike). The retaining screw is secure so it's not going to fall off but it's still a bit of a worry.

How much is normal?

Does the brass(?) sleve wear?

Does anyone have a link to a scematic as the one below doesn't seem to be the one I've got in that item 3 is not there and item 4 are not screws but fixed lugs.

agreed, mine moves about 2cm in and out. Just taken it off to re spray and looked. Hole is slightly oval. Secureenough but I did wonder..Apparently all good though from my reading

Thx guys, did concern me even though I know it's secrure it just feels wrong.

Mine's wobbly too Apply some LID as we use to say in the garage (let it develop)

They're a pile of shit, I re-engineered mine earlier this year with a proper oilite bush along with the centre stand as well!

How do you know? You have no idea how loose the OP's bush is.

there was a thread on here a while ago, chap replaced the bush and the play was only reduced slightly.but hey the op can replace his bush and report back but it seems most people agree its normal, hope that meets with your approval.

Unfortunately I don't think there's a lot to see, but I'll get it to bits and have a look, it's a while since I did it!

Yeah, that was me. Wasted my time and money trying to sort it. It's just as sloppy with new parts fitted.

If I had access to a lathe and some phosphor bronze scraps, I'd do a proper job of it.

Well I can assure you that the bushes do wear. Particularly if you use the side stand to climb on and off the bike. As happened to a good mate of mine last year on his '09 GSA. Clearly not in Pukmeisters case. And yes there is some play from new.

Sounds like you have talked your way into a how to thread eh Mr W ?

Right Mr. V.
