Only recently have I noticed the lean angle of my 1150 gsa when on the side stand.. I'm sure its going further over than I remember.
Anyone else noticed this ?

Difficult to show on the camera.
It does mean that I can't stand on the near side peg and throw my leg over as my foot slips of or I feel the bike may tip.

I think that’s about right for them. Certainly my Gs leans, so much so that fully loaded I have to make quite an effort to get it upright once I’ve got on.

Have you got enough kit on there ? :D

@MikeO might have some advice about the side stand angle.

Have a look at post 105 here.
And half way down post 54 here.

A broken side stand can turn a trip into a nightmare.

Have a great trip, how many months are you going for?

😁 just trying out my Moscow luggage for upcoming trip. And it does take the kitchen sink.

That top bag and tank panniers as well as the other stuff will make it lean more...😉

I would say that looks normal. Mine scared me so much when loaded that I put a hockey puck on the side stand.

Much better now. When loaded also a lot easier to bring to vertical.

Me also, fitted a hockey. This makes a bike difference.
Yep, I've just looked at all the other stuff loaded up .. Are you going on holiday or moving...😂👍 Hockey puck or similar is definitely needed...😁

Adventure model sidestand with a new mounting bush and bolt will get it more upright. when they lean that far over they are a pain to get upright when loaded

Yep, me too for the same reason.

Put the bike on the main stand, then extend the side stand and move it in the vertical plane.

You will be surprised at how much movement there is, and this can cause a serious lean angle when the bike is fully loaded.

It’s an easy job to remove the sidestand pivot bolt, you will likely find that the threaded part of the bolt has worn and is a loose fit in the pivot bush.

As highlighted above, a new sidestand pivot bolt and bush will improve matters, or you can carry a short length of 4” x 2” which makes an effective sidestand puck when parked, and can easily be stored when on the road.

Had the same issue, replaced the pivot bolt and made a new bush. Still leans more than I think it should but on the plus side I can get my leg over!
