I don't think it really matters to be honest,but I have always used mine with the pattern up.

Six of one,half a dozen of the other I think.Maybe I should dream up some reason or other for having it pattern side up,or pattern side down.......

ok mate, sed it was a dumbass question, just didnt know if the tread pattern was supposed to go floor side down to act a grip etc. looks better tread faced up anyway
