My side stand switch got smashed when my bike arrived in the US lying on her side in the container with the side stand bent to buggery. We removed the switch and joined the wires so that the bike would run and bar a few splutters when I had to jiggle the wires a bit all was well.
Until this morning. As I was leaving the house this morning to go to work the bike cut out. Sometimes she will cut out as soon as 1st gear is selected and sometimes she will run in 1st on the fast idle but will cut out as soon as the revs hit 1500rpm. The bike runs and revs well in neutral.
I didn't really have time to start working at it this morning, but I intend to try to get her running this evening as I have a rideout to lead tomorrow. From what I can gather the side stand switch cable connects into the main loom somewhere up around the seat, so I think I'll start by crossing the wires up there to see if that makes any difference to how she runs.
2001 R1150Gs with just over 73k on the clock.
Has anyone any other ideas as to what I might check?
