I recently had an extra long Wilbers rear shock fitted to my 1100 which has raised the ride height by 10mm and, as such, when the bike is on the side stand the lean angle concerns me now as I think with loaded panniers it could tip over.

Would it be possible to fit a side stand from an Adventurer? Are they inter-changeable and a straight swap?

If not, is there anything else I can do to extend my current side stand?

Sorry - seem to have sorted it with this

I fitted an ADV side stand to my GS, it's a bit less than half an inch longer than the stadard side stand. :D

use a hockey puck, attached by a couple of self tapping screws through the stand foot, about £3 and it grips better than the metal side stand feet available.

I added about 30mm to mine, just cut near the foot and weld a piece in, no issue, but you have to put the centre stand up first or they interlock :blast
