Bit scary riding the GS in deep snow, as Im getting older I dont bounce as well, soooooooo Im gonna build a sidecar
Anybody put a sidecar on an 1150 GS, any advice.
How far in front of the back wheel should the sidecar wheel go, where do you attach it to, how far out from the bike should it go to be legal. Cant be too hard, I can weld and I can bodge.

I don't think it can be done as a 'bolt on - bolt off' jobbie.... if it were, I would have one in a flash. The fact its 'permanent' with major modifications puts me right off the whole idea.

A great shame.. as a sidecar outfit would suit me down to the ground... the only thing thats stopping me getting one is I simply cannot justify having two bikes. one of which would be rarely used... and then only for touring, taking my two hounds along.

Its been done many times. Check out the hacks section on the Adventure Riders site. I had a 1150GSA with a double sidecar for a while. The 1150 hauls a chair no problems. It needs a subframe to mount it, which is a little time consuming to build but no worries. Standard suspension is a little soft so you need heavier springs. No snow around here so I didnt try that, but it was good on dirt roads. Do it, I recon. Phil
