Sierra Nevada, (good) riding is to the south in the Alpujarra.
A nice place to stay is Hotel Finca Los Llanos in Capileira (the village is at almost 1500m). Attached is a 4 hour round trip of 100 miles, over half on very narrow but entertaining roads. The route takes you through Orgiva, which is close to where Chris Stewart lives.
