Off next weekend with a bunch of (non GS):( Mates to Moto GP at Le mans

Thing is, I'd rather have a look around than pay £55 to get in to watch a fraction of a race..whilst packed into a circuit like a sardine..

Hence has anyone got any suggestions? We are staying at Angers.. which by the looks of it is down towards Nantes

If it was a bit closer then the Normandy beaches was a plan, but i reckon its a bit far..

Cheers Bryn

Track side coverage abroad on the whole is much better than Donnington. I counted 5 large screens around the track at Jerez this year. With a pair of bins it was possible to follow the race from almost everywhere. Besides you can't feel the noise as the 4 strokes go past, if you're not trackside. We're meeting some locals who live in Le Mans for this year. Maybe see you there.

Loads of amazing chateaux in the Loire....well worth a tour.

A weekend of chateaux and cave visits......perfect!

PS Bakerman...local cider and oysters????

You got shares in Immodium? :D

If you've not sorted accomodation in Angers, try the Hotel Julian in the town centre, down the road (1/4 mile) from the castle with the flower gardens in the moat.

Good value with the benefit of a public underground free of charge (for bikes) carpark. It's manned 24hrs & the bikes are parked right outside the windows to the control room.

Angers itself is wrth a look around, various castles, monuments & cathedrals etc.

See you there Bryn.
I'm heading down in the early hours of the Saturday with non GS'ers, returning Monday.
