Just put on a Kisan signal minder box'o tricks, ordered and delivered within 48 hours from Nippy Norm's.

TBH the only reason I wanted it was so I can plug in (via two modem type connections) a set of Kisan Vectralights to stick on my Vernatechs panniers.....

The panniers go back behind the bike a bit, and with my lowering kit and the level I've mounted the boxes at to make off roading easier without removing the boxes, my mini-indicators are not visible at more than an angle of about 40 degrees from centreline.

So the Vectralights will give me amber running lights facing forwards, red running lights facing backwards and these will flash on the relevant side as indicators when required.

Sadly, Norman didn't have the Vectralights in stock so they're on the way from Kisan (about a week), but tonight I did the fastest mod on my bike ever....

The package for the Kisan says 'plug and play', and that's no lie.

In fact, you know that feeling when something goes too easily, too smoothly and nothing goes wrong and you almost get a sense of anti climax??

1) Remove seat
2) Remove lid of Fuse box
3) Pull out flasher relay (obvious from the piccies in the kisan booklet)
4) Plug Kisan unit on multi pin connector (only goes one way round)
5) Replace fuse box lid
6) replace seat.

Hmmph...that was too easy...let's see if it works...

Fekk me yes......

Ignition on, indicators both light up at about 60% brightness......indicate left, left indicator flashes, same with right.

Test Autoswitch........fog lights come on, indicators work still.....

Hmph....

2 minutes to install from start to finish...

All I did after that was to set the delay time for the indicator cancel to what I wanted and test that, but it was the simplest mod I've ever done on a bike.......almost an anticlimax.

All I'm waiting on now is the Vectralight LED units to plug into the sockets on the signal minder relay box......then my rear indicators will be visible again (as well as having additional indicators facing forwards on the upper sloping edge of the Vernatechs)

Yes I know that technically, red flashing lights on the back of a bike as indicators are illegal, but wtf...it'd tale a real wonky copper having a bad day to nick me for it.......but I'm looking forwards to having properly visible indicators on my extremities when they arrive.

Good service as normal from Nippy, and a good product :thumb

Indicators

Hi Fanum,

I've started fitting my repeaters to my Vernatechs too. I'm just going to fit one of those very slim amber led repeaters to the rear face of each pannier. (for same reason as you.

I've done about half the job on one side so far, but all seems to be going ok.

I'll post some pics when I've done!

Will
