.....parked in the hangar at John Clark BMW in Dundee tonight. ISTR that it also had a Laser exhaust can and a top box. I guess it was in Clark's for a service.

Anyone here care to admit to owning it? I'm interested in the wheel conversion.

ST Wheels. They go straight in. You must have a Remus/BOS/Akrapovic can or similar as the Std one is too wide.
Pidcocks did mine ( 06 Model, they did one for Chris Pidcock, too,as well as an 08 Model).I'm sure they'd answer any questions about the job.

Yes, I think they were ST wheels. I'm interested in talking to the owner, if possible, to find out what s/he think of the conversion and if it's worth the costs involved.

I'm also still not sure if all other 17" alloy rears have a different offset from the GS wheel so that the wheels run out of line and just how much of a difference this makes to the handling of the bike.

May as well buy a Honda Hornet:thumb2

My son had a very nice little Hornet after passing his direct access a few years ago. That was before he spent a spell on my VFR800 before buying his K1200S. By absolutely thrashing the tits off the Hornet, he could just about stay with me on my GS on a twisty, bumpy B road. However, it was pretty hard work and even after a thorough overhaul, the suspension on the Hornet was still too soft and mushy for really hard riding. It's a beginner's bike really. It now lives next door with one of my female copper neighbours.

You bloody lunatic! Is that on a cycle track? :rob

I did see a GS from Pidcocks in a Supermoto mag with that wheel conversion and a good write up it got too :thumb2

Would you Englishmen kindly bugger off out of my very Scottish specific thread.

Thank you.....

Mine was converted with only running in mileage on.I'd have had it done from new had i known about Pidcocks doing them.Only ever intended on doing Road Mileage but wanted the GS Style/Presence.I did about 8000 miles on mine.Handling was really nice.No problems found during Motorway mileage,A roads,B roads and the IOM TT Course.I had to get some metal trimmed off the inside edge of the n/s centre stand foot as it came close to the tyre.
I'd still have it now but got a good deal on a Megamoto which is probably better suited to my needs.

Big Simp converted his and machined the rear to reduce the offset but i'm not sure which wheels he used.
Pidcocks got their conversion accepted by Mottoradd and were able to offer the wheel swop from new and BMW would take the Std Wheels back so only Labour Charge applicable.
Chris ran his as a personal bike for 06/07 and had a "Facelift" 08 1200 done too.

Cycle Track just round the Corner from Morrisons Tamworth, used for Photo Shoot only !!

The GS in Supermoto Mag was the Chris Pidcock bike.

I would`ve had my bike done if that offer was on at the time! :blast
